Your Doodle designs

We must receive your Doodle designs no later than 1 week prior to the event. We will send templates and a general guide on how to create your Doodles and what works best with our Icing. Please read this information as not all Doodles will be suitable for icing which means we cannot guarantee using all of them. We will pick the best Doodles suitable for your cake/cookies.

 

                                                                   

Payment - Doodle Cakes and cookies (Non-wedding)

We accept cash, bank transfer or cheques as payment for celebration cakes and cookies.

Due to the personalisation of Doodle cakes and cookies the full balance is required when placing your order. Until this is recieved we can not reserve the date for your cake/cookies.

 

 

 

Cancellation policy

Below is a guide to refunds should you wish to cancel your order.

If wish upon a cake cancels your order due to unforeseen circumstances we will attempt to contact one of our local cake makers to complete your order and if this is not possible you will receive all monies paid back to you including your deposit.

 

 

 

Payment for Doodle Wedding cakes and cookies

A £100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is due 6 weeks before the event. Payment can be made by cash, bank transfer or cheque. Deposits are non-refundable (including cancellation and weather conditions) in order to reserve the date and the possible loss of business we may incur if you were to cancel.  If the booking fee is not received within 7 days of initial consultation we will release the date back to the general public. Please check your order thoroughly before making payment.

 

                                                      

Cancellation (wedding orders)

Below is a guide to refunds should your wedding order be cancelled.

6 weeks+ Loss of £100 deposit fee.

4 - 6 weeks 75% of the final balance will be returned minus £100 non-refundable deposit. (Final balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the event)

2- 4 weeks 50% of the final balance will be returned minus £100 non-refundable deposit

0- 2 weeks 0% refund. No refund available. See below

In the event we are unable to offer a refund due to the loss of business and products already purchased, we can issue a receipt for insurance purposes if you are intending to make a claim should your wedding be cancelled.

Doodle alterations

Your final order can be amended (i.e. colours/size/shape) up to 2 weeks before the date of your occasion. Please note there may be additional charges depending on what is required. No changes will be accepted after this time. Wedding orders may be amended up to 4 weeks prior to the event. We cannot offer refunds for orders being reduced in sized. Doodle wedding orders can be amended up to 4 weeks prior to the wedding. Please note we cannot offer refunds for orders being reduced in size.

 

 

 

Portion guide                                                                              

Our portion guide is an approximate guide only; wedding and party venues generally have a good knowledge of cake cutting and portion sizes.

 

Doodle cake/cookie storage                                                            

All cakes should be stored in a cool dark place on a flat sturdy surface in a suitable cake box or container. Please remember weather conditions can affect your cake. Never put cakes in the fridge prior to an event, as the condensation will ruin the icing. Chocolate, Vanilla, lemon and all other sponge varieties of cake generally keep for approximately 5 days after delivery. Fruit cake generally lasts well for weeks but please make sure you store it correctly in an airtight container.
We do suggest once the cake is cut it should be consumed straight away.

 

 

Allergies                                                                                                                            

All cakes and cookies with the exception of fruit and customer choice do not contain nuts. However we do not manufacture the ingredients used in our products and cannot guarantee ingredients have been produced in a nut free environment.
Please note our products are baked on premises where nuts are stored. Please be aware of this if you or any of your party has a nut allergy. Every care is taken to ensure there is no cross-contamination.

Dairy free cakes are available on request.

 

 

 

Delivery

Wedding orders are delivered free of charge within a 20 miles of Stevenage, SG2. However we also deliver to Herts, Beds, Cambridge, Essex, London and further afield if required for an additional fee.

Orders over £65 are delivered free of charge within a 10 miles of Stevenage SG2, however we are more than happy to deliver outside of this area for an additional fee. 

Orders under £65 require collection.

We do not offer specified timed deliveries but we can offer a time window. All orders will be delivered on your chosen delivery date. In some circumstances this may be arranged for the day before, due to venue restrictions and travel etc.

We cannot be held responsible for any damage caused after delivery, nor for unforeseen circumstances such as traffic delays or weather conditions on route to deliveries which may affect the time your order arrives. 

 

 

Collection                                                                                                                        

Wish upon a cake will not be not liable for any damage caused after collection. We recommend purchasing a specialist cake box for transporting wedding cakes which can be arranged through Wish upon a cake.

 

 

Doodle model release                                                                                     

Our client hear by assigns and grants Wish upon a cake and its legal representatives the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish photographs of the client with our products, for editorial, trade, advertising or any other purpose and in any manner and medium: to alter the same without restriction: and to copyright the same. The client hereby releases Wish upon a cake and its legal representatives and assigns from all claims and liability relating to said photographs. It is agreed that Wish upon a cake may display and use the photographs taken for advertising, display, website and internet promotion, photographic contest, public display such as in trade shows, bridal shows, cake industry publications, studio display, TV advertising, magazine advertising and any other purpose thought proper by Wish upon a cake. Please note unless we are given permission by yourself, your Doodle designs will never be created onto another clients order, nor will any cake maker be able to copy your cake unless you pass on your Doodles to them. Wish upon  a cake is the original Doodle cake maker/designer and if your Doodle cake does not have our logo then it's not an original Doodle cake.

 

Complaints                                                                                                                       

Should you feel a need to complain you are required to give us the opportunity to correct any problems when accepting your order straight away. We are not responsible for mistakes made by the customer i.e. Incorrect/misspelled names or incorrect choice of cake. We always keep samples of our products. Complaints are extremely rare in the world of cakes and we have never had a complaint as yet. However if you wish to make a complaint we will take it very seriously. Some complaints may require further investigation and an immediate refund may not always be possible. Cakes, or part of cakes and cookies, must be returned to us within 24 hours to ensure we are able to fairly assess the nature of the complaint. The cake must have been stored at the correct temperature and in the box we supplied, out of the sun and away from damp conditions or heat. If you are complaining for a refund you must return at least 75% of the uneaten product within 24hours of delivery/collection. The maximum refund we offer is 50% of the value of the cake minus delivery costs. Further compensation is not available. We do not refund for customers that have simply changed their mind or if the cake has been damaged out of our care. Please note is it very common for icing to crack as it dries out which is out of our control and why we recommend you consume your cake as soon as it is cut. We do not accept complaints for not liking the taste of our products mainly because every persons taste differs. We can offer a tasting service for a small fee which allows you the opportunity to taste our products should you wish to do so prior to ordering.
